Pam Setser with Kent & Becky Coffee
Saturday, September 3rd at 7:00 p.m.
Summer is almost over and Yellville Music on the Square is coming to an end with only two weeks of performances left. This past week brought to us Mesa Mitchell & Band sponsored by Clinton Evans for MC Sheriff. Many folks came out to enjoy the music and dancing. As always all are welcome to attend free of charge and come to enjoy the music as well as the goods sold at our farmer’s market. Each week t-shirts and hat are for sell at $15. There are always door prizes given away at intermission and if you’re seen wearing your MOTS shirt you can get two tickets for door prizes. Coming to Music on the Square this Saturday September 3rd is Pam Sester with special guests Kent & Becky Coffee.
Saturday’s night of dancing and live music will be sponsored by Marion County Judge Terry Ott.
Pam Setser has been singing since she was five years old. She sang for years with her mother and dad as "The Simmons Family". At the age of nine, Pam, along with her parents went to Washington D.C. representing Arkansas. The Simmons family traveled all over Arkansas promoting Mountain View.
At the age of 21, Pam moved to Hot Springs, Arkansas to be the lead female singer of the music show "The Country Music Story". Setser did this show for three years. Around 1984, Setser won 2nd runner-up in the National Wrangler Country Showdown talent contest which was held at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville.
Pam and her mother, Jean Jennings, were honored to represent Arkansas during the Clinton administration. They performed for Hillary Clinton at a luncheon in Washington D.C. They also performed that evening for the Senators and spouses.
Pam has performed with Grandpa and Ramona Jones, The Whites, Joni Bishop, and actress/singer Mare Winningham. Setser was part of the White River Hoedown, River Rats, and the radio show "At Home in the Country" which was broadcast over Public Radio. She performs regularly at Backstreet Theater, Mellon's Hole in the Wall Theater, and the Ozark Folk Center in Mountain View, as well as other venues for private gigs. Pam performs as a solo artist and with the groups, Leatherwoods, Jackie B., and Apple, Rounds, Setser & Crouch. Leatherwoods, a very well-known band, has been together over 30 years.
Leatherwoods was honored to go to Washington D. C. representing Arkansas and performing at the
Kennedy Center. Pam has appeared on The Louisiana Hayride, You Can Be a Star, Nashville Now, Hee Haw, The Tonight Show, and recently on the HGTV feature Top Ten Christmas Towns, showcasing Caroling in the Caverns and Mountain View.
Pam is married to Vic Setser and has two children by her previous marriage. Her day job is Business Development Officer at Centennial Bank of Mountain View.
With such a strong background in music, you can imagine what a powerful performer Pam is! Pam performs all kinds of music and plays mountain dulcimer, guitar, autoharp and spoons. She recently performed at a theater in Branson, Missouri, Good Sam’s events in Canton, Texas and Fort Smith, Arkansas, Six State RV Rally in Shawnee, Oklahoma and at churches in Arkansas. Pam can perform with the best, but chooses to make her home in the beautiful Ozark mountains. Check out her website www.pamsetser.com to see all of her dates.
