Big Mill Band
Joining forces from all around Missouri, Arkansas and Tennessee, the boys of Big Mill will bring the traditional sound of hard-driving bluegrass from the likes of Flatt and Scruggs, the Stanley Brothers and Jimmy Martin. The band also loves the music from groups like Lost and Found, Country Gentlemen, Jim and Jesse, Larry Sparks, Doyle Lawson and others, just to name a few. Don’t expect much talk – these boys are here to pick. The more you clap, the harder they’ll pick!
Individually, the boys have been playing bluegrass for a bunch of years, but Big Mill has been together for about a year. Allen Jones (banjo and vocals), John Taylor (guitar and vocals) and Darren Osborn (mandolin and vocals) have been lifelong friends and music buddies. Taught to play fiddle by his grandpa, Bill Gage spices things up with his fantastic fiddle style and his tenor singing. Hometown boy Lyn Baker rounds out the quintet by adding the bottom notes with his rock solid upright bass playing.
